Severe constipation in toddler??
My 1 year old has been having trouble with pooping since I began giving her cow milk a couple months ago, her stomach becomes bloated and her poop gets stuck in her rectum, once it’s out it is the size of my own poop. I’ve taken her to her pediatrician many times and he does absolutely nothing but prescribe suppositories and tell me to cut off milk. I’ve taken her to the ER and they didn’t seem concerned just explained to me that some kids can’t tolerate milk until they’re older and to give her more fiber which I already do. I’ve cut off cow milk completely but my daughter loves it and will cry until I give her some (I give her watered down soy milk). The problem still hasn’t gone away and I’m tired of watching my baby in pain, she’ll sometimes throw up because of how constipated she is. Any mothers have any advice on what I can do? I’ve scheduled an appointment with a gastroenterologist that my pediatrician recommended but it isn’t until next month. What can I do in the mean time to soften her stools and make it easier?
