Mirena wouldn’t go in

i went to my family doctor to get my iud put in and after about 10 minutes of being poked and getting cramps i was told i have a tipped uterus and it was going to be a little tricky. after a total of 40 minutes of my doctor trying multiple different methods she had to give up and recommend me to go to a specialist to get it done as she didn’t want to put me through anymore pain. has this happened to anyone else? if so did the second time go more smoothly? is it worth going a second time for all the benefits?
