Birth story for babygirl #2

Elizabeth • My other name is “mama”🌿

I’ll try and keep this as short and sweet as possible 😊

I worked all the way until I was in labor! I work in a doctors office and my ob & hospital was only 2/3 mins away, literally walking distance so we were prepared for when it was time! I did things naturally to indicate labor following my due date, I drank raspberry leaf tea starting @35 weeks, ate dates, evening primrose oil w sex! I really did anything that I felt like would help ease my labor, I know baby was going to go when she was ready! It’s due date day and still no sign of baby so naturally I head to work as a normal day but deep inside I had a feeling a feeling she was coming. My contractions started around 10 am and would last 30secs to a min and they were about every 10 mins apart, I also noticed a little blood in my urine but nothing alarming. I had an ob appointment that day so I worked till my appointment time with contractions while timing them making sure they weren’t getting to close together. I see my midwife and I’m at a 3! Yay! I get my membranes sweeped (which isn’t so much painful but really uncomfortable) and I was ready lol I get home, make 2 more cups of my tea, chug this down and we head to the mall to grab chick fil a (my ultimate craving) and to walk! I’m walking the mall and my contractions start becoming so intense that I had to stop what I was doing and wait for it to pass

We get home and my contractions are about 7-10 mins apart still but lasting longer and becoming very painful. I start packing my last minute needs, shower, do my hair and then head into a Epsom soak because I was deff in early labor. It wasn’t till my contractions became 5 mins apart and I could barley talk was when we headed to the hospital. We live 5 mins from it so I knew I still had time to make it there. We arrive, I’m in triage and I dilated to a 5.5 -6! Yay! We are admitted at 11pm July 31st (my due date) I was given the gas to help my contractions while waiting for the epidural. I had amazing nurses that made everything go so fast and smooth I loved it! I receive the epidural just before I hit 7 cms! I labor till the morning but comfortably. I was able to nap and my hunny was there doing everything and anything I needed. It’s 730am and I’m still laboring and about to start curling my hair in bed LMAO. My nurse come it’s wanting me to change positions since I’m at a 10 but baby is still high and comfortable so she puts me in a position where it kind of arches your back but not really lol I’m on the phone with my dad when all nurses come running in. Babygirl moved and I guess her heart rate dropped but I know it’s just the monitor Was moving bc she dropped low! My midwife then wanted me to start to push at 8 am to get her out just in case. The atmosphere was so calm, so encouraging, so easy. I could cry just thinking about how peaceful and amazing that time was. Hunny felt the head before I completely pushed her out and so did I! I was so nervous bc with my first my epidural didn’t work so I had her naturally and the ring of fire.. holy shit lol but with my second it wasn’t bad, I didn’t tear or anything! Baby was born at 8:24 am weighing 8lbs 4 oz! It was one of the most magical days of my life. I can’t wait to do this over and over again! Praying everyone has a smooth and easy labor 💖

This is also not to brag, this is to give hope if you’ve had a bad labor experience. With my first my labor was a nightmare. It was also with my ex who at the time being pregnant with my second I was in a custody battle. I moved back home so the custody battle was in a different state at that. So I was flying back and fourth for court and guess what? I won, FULL! To anyone who thinks they can’t get out of a bad relationship. You can, I did, I won and I have been blessed with the most amazing man who I’ve hoped and prayed for, he treats me like a queen and my first as if it’s his own!

Also sorry if my grammar isn’t perfect, I typed this quickly before both girls woke up 😂
