Dental work ?

Question

Can I get a cavity filled with local freezing while pregnant (22weeks) ? I am going to ask my doctor Tuesday but just curious as to if anyone’s had it done and everything’s fine. The dentist said since I’m in the second trimester it’s okay but I wanted to ask my doctor first.

I’m a hygienist and we just recommend to call your OB or get a letter standing what can and can not be done and which anesthesia can be used. More the time pregnant women can’t have epinephrine used in the local anesthetic. There are like 10 different ones so it can be done. I even had a patient recently who was 25 weeks pregnant and her OB okayed xrays. So just call your doctor 😊😊

I had dental work done at 12weeks 4 days with local freezing and was fine. I had 3 teeth done. Just sucks when I was hungry and couldn't eat aha but asking your Dr might help ease your mind aswell
