Has anyone had this happen? TMI nipple pic

So I recently had a clogged duct due to trying to slow down on pumping. This recently happened to me, like my nipple skin pealed. Is it because I pumped too hard or too long? How can I fix this, I have to wear nipple pads and ointment/cream on it. If I don’t put a cream/ointment the nipple sticks to the pad and more skin comes off, and even with the ointment the nipple still slightly sticks. Please help..
