When do babies stop napping after each feeding?

My daughter is 6 weeks old and I'm wondering if she should still be sleeping after each feeding. It seems like she is tired (yawning) but I also don't want her to sleep too much during the day.

She's a newborn, she needs to sleep in the day, some.up to 19 hours a day

At this age she should basically still be eating and sleeping. Maybe 30 mins a couple times a day of awake time. Around 4 months mine started doing longer stretches.

If you keep your baby from napping during the say, you'll only have an overtired baby at night. I tried to do that & there i was at 10 pm with an overtired baby who just wouldn't go to sleep. Lesson learned. let your baby nap when ever she wants

From the books I’ve read related to sleep patterns in babies, they have their own schedule until about 4 months old when you can start inserting some pattern changes. Until then, respect that they know what they need and when they should be sleeping. The Sleep Easy Solution is a wonderful book on babies and sleep if you would like some guidance. Ask your pediatrician if you are truly worried that your baby is lethargic or doesn’t seem to be able to stay awake.

They should only be awake for about a half an hour to an hour at that stage each time.
If you try to keep her up you'll have an overtired baby and they're a damn nightmare.
