Should my breast milk look like this?

It looks like a semi thick layer has built up at the top, is this normal? It’s only been in the fridge for 7 hours...

Yes normal. It's just settling. No big deal. Shake It Up in your good to go. The milk will really separate in the freezer and you'll have to mix it well to get it back to its consistency

It’s the fat separating from the rest of the milk. With fresh cows milk, (Farm girl here) the fat layer that separates to the top is what you make butter with! I joke about how I could make my own butter and we wouldn’t have to buy it anymore 😂

Yep, foremilk is more watery and hindmilk is fattier. They separate after sitting for a little bit. Just swirl the bottle and it'll mix right back up. 😊

Breast milk has a lot of fat in it, so when it's cold it can solidify or seperate a little bit.
