You'll have to give up alot in life after having a child, so if you're not even ready to give up alcohol for 9 months to ensure your child has the best chance then maybe you need to reevaluate 🤷

My midwife got her training in Europe and it Is VERY common there to see a pregnant woman drinking a beer or glass of wine while visibly preg - and nothing is wrong with this in Europe. She says it's all about how fast you drink the wine. A 6oz glass if consumed SLOW is perfectly fine! She said your body will metabolize any alcohol long before it even has the chance to reach the fetus. If you CHUG (or consumed it quickly) then yes, you put your fetus at risk. But I enjoyed a 6 oz glass of wine on my 1 year wedding anniversary while at a nice restaurant on Tuesday night,  guilt free, but was sure to drink it nice and slow (over 1 to 1.5 hrs to complete the glass). Its all on how YOU feel about it! In North America,  its taboo, but to me, it doesnt need to be. Read the book Expecting Better... 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I have heard that ppl do it but I’m too worried about hurting the baby. A drink has definitely been sounding good lately....only a few more months of waiting for me though.

I do up to 1 drink in the 1st trimester, 1 a month in the 2nd, and 1 every other week in the third. Always with food and always slow. Half the time I don't even finish it, but I love the taste.

I'm pretty sure doctors have started saying no amount of alcohol is okay during pregnancy because they can be held accountable if something negative were to happen because people use recommendations loosely, and say that their doctor said it was okay then get pissed off if something bad is to happen. Honestly, I would not risk it. Who knows what the real honest 100% okay limit is for any one person. I am heavier and  even when I would drink frequently I would get drunk fast. My body doesn't break it down as well. Everyone has a different tolerances and their body works in different ways. Who is to say even if you drink it slow that it will be broken down quickly or that your baby won't be affected? There is no 100% guarantee with anything. It is up to your personal feelings and judgement.

I voted no... but once during my pregnancy so far I was making risotto and had bought a new white wine. I wanted so badly to try it, so I took a swig, lol. But that's it, it took me a lot to get pregnant (2 years, plus 6 IUI's) so personally I don't want to risk it... that being said I've been having the other things you aren't supposed to, like deli meat and sushi (but I've stuck to crab meat California roll only instead of others like salmon and sashimi etc.).

For me, just a sip from my husband’s glass occasionally. I know some women limit it to 1 glass a week with their doctor’s approval. And others abstain entirely. 
There’s no recommended amount that’s 100% safe, so less is generally better.
