My pediatrician actually OKd a walker because we have hardwood floors (so crawling was hazardous for my little guy lol) and no access to stairs from the main room of our house. She said to only use it for short periods of time and still spend time practicing walking around without any devices. The hip problems and toe walking occur when babies spend most of their time practicing in a walker instead of practicing by using their own balance- it definitely interferes with natural gait. In all honesty, I enjoyed the freedom the walker provided but my poor toes and shins definitely preferred my son in the exercauser lol

My chiropractor strongly advises me to not use anything before baby hits the milestone on their own. For example no sit me up seat until she can sit independently etc

I read that even push walkers aren’t recommended because they tend to teach walking by leaning forward, and less balance required. We used nothing and my LO walked within the normal time range. She also very quickly progressed from walking holding  hands to basically running. Whether that was because we didn’t use anything or just her development, who knows. Basically, my view is that you don’t need anything encouraging walking, just let them figure it out on their own. That was my approach at least.

Yes, in moderation and supervised. I never left my daughter in hers for more than 15 or 20 minutes at a time, I always watched her...she’s fine.

I mean maybe for a short time but it doesn't really help babies learn to walk. All my kiddos in daycare that were in walkers tried to walk by leaning forward and tried to walk on their tip toes. A push toy is great though. I just don't recommend walkers because it ended up just setting some of my kids back as far as learning to walk

The push walkers are more recommended, because like the other ladies mentioned; the seated walkers can cause hip issues and can end up delaying walking due to baby learning to walk incorrectly. But much like everything else parenting related; this is one of those things that is totally up to you to decide on ☺

They're fine as long as they're used in moderation and with supervision.        The problem is when people leave a child in one unsupervised for hours on end.

Bad for babies hips and can teach them to try to walk incorrectly. 
Also my pediatrician was against them from seeing injuries from running to things or tipping or what not.
