Stress test at 33 weeks?

Question

I’m currently 32 weeks almost 33 I have been having alotttt of Braxton Hicks which turned out to be real contractions. So now they said they were gonna send me to the hospital when I’m 33 weeks to be monitored and the have a stress test. I froze because I started getting worried. So I didn’t ask questions which I know I should have. So what happens during the stress test and the monitoring? 
Btw I’m taking procardia. If that has anything to do with it lol.

Usually they just hook the monitor up to your belly and see how baby is handling contractions and how often you’re having them

I had one done with my 4th and was asked for urine sample (they drug test in the hospital where i had my boys) then was hooked up on the monitor they gave me this thing where i had to press everytime i felt baby move i was told it would be 1hr but they kept me there for 2hrs, i was having irregular contraction and son was moving alot so they had to be fixing the monitor to get his heart rate i was given chips and ice chips lol

Was it a non stress test by chance? If so, they have you lay there with a button to click and you click whenever you feel the baby move. They have 2 sensors on your belly. One measures baby’s heart rate and the other is measuring contractions. They watch the contractions and the heartbeat at the same time and when you click that you feel movement. Baby’s heart rate should jump when you feel baby move and should go up and down randomly throughout the test.

At my last scan which was Tuesday at 32 weeks 2 days I was told I’m being sent to do weekly “non stress test” and ultrasounds. I have a blood clotting disorder and that’s why my specialist ordered it but he said it’s just a precaution to watching him and I extra close so no problems arise. Definitely got me worried though.

Unless you’re currently experiencing chest pain, it won’t be stress test” ..it’ll be a “non-stress test” which typically involves you laying down on a bed while they have two monitors strapped around your belly. One monitors the heart rate of the baby while the other one is monitoring the motion artifact that the baby is making while moving inside. They want to see activity in the sense that when baby moves, the heart accelerates and then decelerations after rest. It’s completely non-invasive. It’s only really ever taken me max of 40 minutes to complete..they want to record so many movements within such a time. If baby doesn’t move frequently enough, they may ask you to drink some cold water or apple juice while you’re there to stimulate the baby a little more.

They’ll normally just ask for a urine sample while at the hospital then hook you up to the monitors to measure baby’s heart rate and movements and if you’re having contractions. It’s not stressful at all you just lay there and the nurses may give you some cold water or a snack to get baby moving.
