What does your newborn do?

Ok so My first born did nothing but cry. I mean cry all day and night. My mom would keep telling us that it’s normal. That some babies just cry. Well, Finally after three months we told the doctor and found out it was silent reflux. After medication, it was like a completely different baby

Well now I have a newborn again. A 1.5 wk old. All she does is sleep. Is this normal? I’m just worried something is wrong simply by my only experience with a baby was nothing but crying.

Do they stay awake for long periods at a time or should they mainly be sleeping?
