I need some help on whether a pacifier will be helpful or not

My son never took a pacifier and he just used me as one so it was no big deal

My daughter however will NOT nurse for longer than to eat and will gag if she stays latched any longer

She is 8 weeks old and yesterday started crying for no reason and the only thing that helped was laying belly down on my arm and a pacifier.

I was anti pacifier for myself (no judgement on other moms that use them) but now I’m reconsidering.

What are pros and cons? Also what are the best kind to use so it doesn’t mess with her teeth??
