Tips for tandem nursing a newborn and toddler?
I'm expecting baby #2 in the next few weeks and my 2.5 year old is still breastfeeding a handful of times a week. We were originally on a twice a day schedule while I was working, but he's been slowly self weaning over the last 6 months or so. However, I think I've been producing more colostrum lately and he seems to be regaining some interest. I'm expecting that will likely continue once I get actually milk coming back in.
I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this and how do manage it? Do I let the newborn feed first and then let my toddler feed after? I want to make sure the newborn will get all the milk he needs and not just foremilk if I start overproducing from feeding them both. I'm sure there are other fun issues I'm not even thinking about as well!
