Birthday gifts for 1 year old ?!?

What is everyone getting their baby for their first birthday ?

We bought her a princess cozy coupe and a couple of books. She's having a birthday party on Saturday. Today's her actual birthday so we are going to Build a Bear and she'll get her first taste of ice cream after. Yesterday she got her first taste of cake. (She hated it, she screamed during her smash cake photoshoot. 🤣)

I’m not sure if it’s just me but I love to gift anything practical/functional! I also ensure I gift toys that are age appropriate as the child would get maximum use/benefit from it. Looking through age appropriate toys help narrow down my options when deciding what to get. 
On another note, I’m a FTM and quickly realized how fast baby toys and things accumulate!! I indicated “please, no gifts” on my baby’s invite as she has more than she will ever need for her age and then some. 
I’ve also started practicing the Montessori method so everything is very particular. I would never want to tell people what to get her exactly so I figured requesting no gifts would minimize waste (lack of better word) and allow for me to gift her what I know will work best for us. 
How would you feel as a guest being asked not to bring a gift?? What are your thoughts?

We got her a play kitchen set since she loves the one at daycare and some large wood puzzles and books. I asked my sis to gift her a tunnel and both parents are doing a contribution to her savings!

My son loves mickey and toys that make sounds so we are getting him a mickey guitar, a xylophone toy, wooden mickey puzzle, play tent, stuffed mickey and mega blocks. I might save a couple for christmas since he will probably get so much for his birthday already from others.

I took it easy this bday being hes still so little. My boy loves the vaccum so I bought him a kid one and some books and some cars.
