Who do I call about mastitis?

I'm pretty sure I have mastitis. I've been having clogged ducts frequently because my boy was tied and im pretty sure one progressed to mastitis. I'm just not sure who to call... Do I call my OB? My lactation consultant? My primary?

Your OB. I described my symptoms over the phone and they prescribed the medicine for me. I didn’t have to go in. Good luck!

That is really awful I’m sorry! I have had it 5 times. I found taking lecithin helped me not to get it again. But as for getting onto antibiotics to help clear it up call your dr. If you cannot get in right away to your dr and it is really bad definitely go to the Er as it can escalate very quickly and you would end up in the store anyways for surgery to drain it. I’m not trying to cause alarm but mastitis is not something to mess around with.

I had it and happened to be at my daughters pediatrician for a check up and they gave me a prescription so I think any doctor can help.
