Breastfeeding Nightmare 🚦

Michele

I’m trying to breast feed my baby using the pump, but I keep getting different information from the lactation consultants. I go in to a class and one tells me to pump until I run out of milk, and that I’m a size 20-24 cup for the pump.

I go in another time, and the next consultant tells me I’m a size 27 cup, and that I should only pump for 30 minutes, but that I should also stop pumping only when my milk slows... my milk doesn’t slow after 30 minutes. My milk slows after an hour or so.

Both tell me that if I am pumping wrong, or using the wrong cup, or pump too little, then my milk will run out.

So which is it? Am I a size 20, 24, 27? How long should I pump? If it’s 30 min, I won’t fully drain... right? Then my milk will go away because it’s ‘not being used’. I’m sick of this. I want my baby to be on solids already. 🤦‍♀️ I’m sure I’m overthinking it... but it didn’t work out with my first baby because I lost my milk. I’m just tired, and want someone to give me correct information.

Is anyone else having these issues? What is your experience? Does anyone have any information about breastfeeding that worked for them?
