Uncle no interest in visiting?

My Husbands brother, our baby’s Uncle, does not plan to come visit us and see the baby. We live 8 hrs away. He works full time and goes to school and says he has no time, yet we see him travel all over the US on facebook during his time off and weekends. It’s really starting to make me mad. He doesn’t seem to care at all - doesn’t even ask about him. Thoughts??

He doesn’t have to. It’s not his child though it would be nice. Don’t be mad why would you want someone around your baby who has/had no interest in visiting for the first months anyway

Well my 2 sisters live 30 mins away and my baby is about to turn 2 months old and they have yet to see her..I juts say oh well their loss girl

Honestly in my experience, if there is some concern for my well being and baby’s well being that is enough.  A lot of the men I know aren’t comfortable with newborns but fall in love once the are closer to a year and become “more fun”.

I wouldn’t worry about it or let it bother me. My husband’s brother lives only 15 minutes away and hasn’t expressed any interest in meeting his new niece. His loss.

Some people are like that. My husbands sister is not overly interested in our son. She will come to any events we do with grandma and grandpa but it’s more so because she has nothing else better to do.
She spends more time playing with our cats rather than interacting or even looking at our baby whenever she is over.
But that’s just the way she is, no point getting upset or angry about it.

My brother is 17 and could care less that he has a niece, yeah he’s happy and probably loves her but he could care less about spending time with her. 
It doesn’t bug me because He’s living his own life and is out having fun with friends.

Girl my fiancé’s dad lives 8 minutes down the road and it took him 5 weeks to meet his granddaughter. Some people are weird and as much as it makes me mad...I try and remember that just means more baby snuggles for me🤷🏼‍♀️

Try not to let it bother you. It’s his loss. We have family that lives down the block and they don’t come to see our son. Sad but it is what it is.

My brothers live 10 minutes up the road and have met her once, and that’s just because my parents made them come with them to the hospital to see her when she was born (they are 25 and 23 so plenty old enough to at least ask about her)
I don’t have the best relationship with them so my husband and I agree that if they don’t care to reach out, I don’t care to let them know how she is doing. They can be those weird uncles that she only sees on holidays and knows nothing about.
Luckily I have a group of girlfriends that love her so much so she has a bunch of ‘aunties’ that will make up for it

My little one is 10weeks and my mother in law has seen her twice! Then she gets on Facebook acting like she’s the greatest grandma on planet earth 🙄 I’m still mad but trying to realize it’s their loss
