Pcos? Not pcos?
I don’t even know where to begin but I’m hoping someone can offer some insight. I’ve had my iud (Kyleena) for almost a year. During this year I’ve had cysts pop up and even had surgery in April due to one bursting. I went to my doc a few weeks ago for a check up bc my strings were missing and we did an ultrasound and my iud was in place but the strings were just not hanging out of my cervix anymore. While we were doing the ultrasound they discovered that I had another cyst burst. Which I did have some light cramps but otherwise I was fine. I haven’t had a period for about 2-ish months which I know is expected. I’ve noticed that I have weird hair growth on my boobs and chin? It’s dark hair not like little peach fuzz or anything. And my acne has become bad and I’ve never ever had skin issues before.
I’ve read online that it can cause weight gain but I’ve been losing weight without really trying. A year ago I was actively trying but I stopped since then. I’m not overweight by any means. I’m almost underweight so I’m not sure if that rules me out. I’ve been dealing with bloating, fatigue, and the other things mentioned above. Before my iud I had horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE cramps that would leave me immobile and even then I still had the unwanted hair growth. I didn’t start getting ultrasounds done until I got the iud so I’m not sure if I had cysts beforehand. I’m assuming so only because months prior to getting my iud inserted I had such painful cramps, I was on the floor not moving and at the time my period wasn’t due.
My doctor has never mentioned it to me but my mom swears I have pcos. I never had irregular periods when I had them and I know that’s a huge symptom with pcos so I’m not really sold on me having pcos.
I’m not saying I have pcos but i do know that this hair growth and bloating and acne and random pain on my ovaries is annoying. I’m assuming the acne could just be from my iud but after nearly a year, only in the last few months has it become so bad. Anyways, thanks for reading this long post, and thank u in advance for any suggestions.
