Baby Led Weaning or Purées?

My daughter had her 4 month appointment today and the Dr said we should start baby cereal. I said we did baby led weaning with my first child and we will wait until 6 months to start that. We never did baby cereal or spoon fed my oldest and we had a great experience with BLW. What are you guys planning on doing?

Please just be careful... purées are there for a reason.

We have been doing purées since 4 months and will start BLW at 6 months. I do mash up my own avocados now for her she will be 5 months on the 11th

You can’t do both with blw. Higher chance of choking.

Isn’t baby cereal considered bad practice now? I know that guidance says it’s important to wait until they’re around 6 months and they can sit up on their own etc due to allergies. 
I plan to do BLW like you. My baby is close to 6 months so I’ll probably try soon once they can sit up:) x
