Pap smear for a virgin?

How does the gyno work when you're a virgin? I'm kind of an old virgin so I'm scared to go to the gyno, I don't wanna be in so much pain😭
edit: I think I have a bacterial infection or something which is why I'll probably need one or a vaginal exam, whatever it is they do!

It's not supposed to hurt. Its uncomfortable but virginity doesnt matter. Pap smears are recommended when you become sexually active OR when you're around 21. Its screening for cervical cancer and stuff. If you're worried, tell your doctor who is administering the test

I had a Pap smear when I was a virgin, the week before my wedding. It didn’t hurt at all. My OBGYN was very gentle and he made me feel very comfortable.

It’s best to get used to it because you’ll have several throughout your life. I watch YouTube to distract my mind.

It doesn’t hurt, it’s just uncomfortable. Have you ever pulled out a tampon while it’s still dry? It kinda feels like that. definitely doesn’t feel good lol but it’s not “painful.” It’s over quick. I  just close my eyes and meditate.
