Sweeties Day and Anniversary Ideas!

Note: For TLDR, skip to last paragraph. 🙂

My boyfriend and I met on October 17th of last year. It was obvious that night that I liked him and the feeling was mutual. However, both of us had ended engagements and were nervous about starting a serious relationship. His solution was to court me.

Yes, he literally said he was courting me.

After the whole "I don't want anything serious but I also treat you like a more than friend" shuffle went on, I finally asked for clarification. What was this.

He looked me straight in the eyes with no hesitation and said "Well, first of all I have to be honest. I love you." I then proceeded to be a geek about it, totally afraid to say it back, which he said was smart, but when I did later that night, I knew I wanted to try love one more time.

June 8th is when we became official, but October 17th is the important date for us. We both knew since day one. Lately, we've been having problems as we have left the honeymoon stage. Many stem from suppressed issues and insecurities that stemmed from outside sources and past hurts, and some of it is because almost 4 years ago I was in a fatal car accident. As a result I have PTSD, anxiety, depression and seasonal affective disorder.

Sweeties Day is a midwest Holliday that mimics valentine's day, but the female is the one who dazzles her lover. It's October 19th this year, two days after our anniversary. I'm at a crossroads. He's a soldier and a bodybuilder and he's been wanting me to go to the gym with him again. They have a pool there so we could be near each other after working out. I was also thinking about getting a hotel that includes a spa. I don't know if I should do something he likes that stimulates him (gym), or have him relax with me (spa). I want us to fall in love again, despite our challenges. What do you choose? Gym, Spa or other? I live in Michigan if that helps.
