Has anyone else ever been super freaked out by blood after sex?

I am worried about an experience I had last month with this. My bf used a sex toy instead of fingering me (we haven’t had sex in a while, just both like doing more stuff oral etc.) but after/during that I had bright red blood that lasted like 10 minutes after and turned darker throughout the night like period blood does. I have read it can be spotting or polyps on the cervix but I am so nervous. I was also 14 days into my cycle so maybe its related to ovulation? And I had a clean pap smear like 2 years ago and no other symptoms I can think of, normally have 28 day periods and no spotting.

Any insight or shared experience would help!!
