How much money should I give as a wedding gift??

Honestly I prefer to buy a gift. I can’t stand when people say they just want money. I will spend more on a gift then the amount of cash I’ll give.

Couple hundred bucks unless they're family, then I'd give more. I'd be embarrassed to give like $20. Especially for a wedding gift.

Standard seemed about $100 a guest, so my husband and I give $200 for us.

The couple will appreciate anything!!! Give what you can afford to give. I'm from PA. My husband and I give what we can and also take the event into consideration. For instance, we have been to casual receptions (no ceremony) in that case we give $100. That's not a wedding. It's a party. Outside of that, we generally give $200 to $250. 
I got married in June and I got cash gifts ranging from $50 to $10,000. The majority of the gifts we received from couples were between $200 and $500. We only had 2 guests that didn't give gifts. One didn't even bring a card, rude. And the other said in the card that we would be getting a gift later on, still no gift lol. No biggie.
