Potty trained?

Just wondering who’s 3 year old is potty trained. I can’t get my son to pee on the potty for anything. I’ve tried positive reinforcement, toys, candy, promised activities and none of it works. He goes number 2 on it but refuses to pee 🙃.

I can’t get my 3.5 year old to even sit on the potty. He has a full blown tantrum each time. But for his grandma, he sits on it and sometimes pees. I’m so frustrated. My oldest son was so easy to train.

My son is the same way. So I got him a potty watch to get him excited about peeing on the potty but it got wet from hand washing and now it doesn’t work. He went back to refusing to use the potty 😭

My son is delayed, but he’s in preschool and with. One on one aide. They were supposed to start last week but of course he was sick all week. So we’ll start this week. I’m praying he takes. It’s just that his communication is very delayed so I’m hoping his teacher and I can work a miracle together!

My girl is potty trained for the most part. She still has her accidents but is doing really well. I think me having her little sister 2 months ago threw her for a loop as she was doing well last year and shortly after I got prego she kind of fell back but as I said doing much better!

My kids were potty trained at 2 1/2 so far (still have an 18 month old in nappies). They're all girls though.I just used up all nappies and didn't get anymore. No pull up nappies or anything. My kids had quiet a few accidents before they finally learned to go to the toilet quick enough. Theta LSO preferred using the actual toilet rather than the potty. Let him choose his own panties and don't put on nappies anymore. Letting him feel the pee and see what happens if he doesn't use the toilet might help him want to go to toilet. We had a sheet on the fridge, everytime she used the toilet she got a star. When she had 20 stars she got a surprise. Because she wanted to go 20 times in 5 minutes we changed it to getting one star at the end of the day if she didn't have an accident. And we took her somewhere special when she had 5 stars.

No worries. Hopefully it'll work for you as well as it did for us

I’m going to try your star method! Thank you for your response!

For our daughter it was a turning point knowing mommy is having a baby, so we saved all her diapers for the baby. And i just took her every 2 hrs. Now she tells me when she needs to go. Our biggest thing is wiping.. so we usually wipe her. I just don't wanna risk her getting an infection. But she sleeps in panties, and has only had a few accidents.

Ugh good luck mama! Potty training was not fun- and I only pushed it because he had to be trained for preschool so I had a deadline. It seemed like he would never get it. What worked for us was when I 100% committed. I had tried 2 other times in the summer but got discouraged easily and I think made things worse. He was naked trained in like 2 days but we don’t live in a nudist colony so that wasn’t going to work out very well 😂Basically I told him we’re wearing underwear now and we don’t pee in our underwear. I sounded like a broken record every 5 seconds “we pee in the potty”. I set timers for 30minutes the first few days to try and get him used to going to the bathroom but after that I got away with the timers and tried to give him more control- especially to understand when he had to go. And I let him have accidents- which was the biggest pain. But the same thing everytime “we pee in the potty not in our pants” and would change him and start all over. Mine was super motivated by hot wheels cars (we had tried stickers, trains, m&m’s all before and none were motivating)

My son is potty trained ONLY for pee. It is very frustrating, to say the least. He refuses to poop for DAYS, he will just hold it and have wet farts, while asking for a pull up. If I don’t put him in one, he will not poop. If I put him in one at the same time every day, he will immediately poop! So obviously he’s in complete control of his bowel movements, he just doesn’t feel like using the toilet for that.
