Is it normal for my nipples to swell to twice their size after pumping?

I have a Spectra S2. After I pump, my nipples are huge! I don't know if my problem is that the flanges are too big or small.. but slowly, while pumping, my breast tissue gets stretched and pulled into the tunnel of the flange. It doesn't hurt but it's not the most comfortable experience.

I ordered new flanges I went a size up and a size down and I am still having the same problems. Even when the flange is too small for my nipple and it's rubbing against the sides, it's still pulling a bunch of my areola into the tunnel. The bigger the flange the more it pulls in.. According to my nipple size I should be 24 mm.

This is what my nipples look like during pumping.. I'm pretty sure this isn't normal! My actual nipple is moving freely it's my areola that's rubbing up against the sides :(

Does this happen to anyone else? I ordered a set of flanges from pumpin Pals, I hope they help fix this problem
