Panic attack ??

Question

Could someone help I think I’ve been having panic attacks but I’m not sure could someone who knows they have had one tell me what usually happens much appreciated

There’s honestly such a wide range of symptoms that you can experience in a panic/anxiety attack. I had anxiety attacks due to postpartum anxiety and depression so if it’ll help I can tell you what I went through when I had them. I believe the symptoms can be quite similar. I remember one day at work when I was about 5 months postpartum I started having a really bad anxiety attack because my bf wouldn’t answer his phone (he was sleeping) and I thought something terrible had happened, I always assumed the worst. I started shaking uncontrollably, I started to feel like I couldn’t breathe, tears were streaming down my face and I was struggling to take a breath, I had this overwhelming feeling of doom, like a terrible feeling in your gut that something bad is happening or about to happen, my vision started to get blurry and I started to feel so dizzy and lightheaded that I had to sit down and almost passed out.

Answer

I get hot/cold sweats, feel nauseous, my body shakes, I cry (sometimes) rapid heavy breathing (like hyperventilating) and disassociation. The best thing you can do is figure out how you feel before/during these attacks that way you’ll notice them coming and you can try and control them it takes a lot of practice but it’s so worth it in the end x
