Am I a bad parent?

My babys dad wanted nothing to do with me when I got pregnant. We're over it. Got through that. Fine. Went our separate ways.

I ended up starting to see (date) my best friend of nearly 6 years. He treats my baby like his own. It's amazing to see.

I'll just reiterate that the dad is not actively involved. He messages me twice a week to check in and that's it. Hardly visits.

Well, our child was hospitalized because she caught bronchitis (she's 8 months old and I'm so upset and emotional and worried) My first reaction is to turn to my boyfriend and best friend and biggest supporter. He is instantly by my side in the hospital. And two days later when my babys dad sends his text I'm like oh shes sick I'm sorry I forgot to tell you.

HE GETS PISSY WITH ME because he's her real dad and I didnt think to tell him.
