My birth stories (3 babies in 3 years!!!)

Ko

I had my first baby girl 4/22/17. She was born at exactly 38 weeks & weighed 6.13lbs & was 18.5 inches long!

We had a scare at 36 weeks where I was having regular contractions 1-2 minutes apart but I was stuck at 4cm dilated. The hospital sent me home & put me on pelvic rest for the next 2 weeks because sex was what caused the early labor.

The night that I reached 38 weeks I couldn’t hold out any longer & my ex and I had sex. My water broke at home that same night at 4am. Surprisingly I was very calm & quietly told my ex to get up, my water had broke & it was baby time! I showered, called my dad & woke my nana who we were living with at the time (who didn’t believe my water had broken until I showed her the giant wet spot on our bed) we got to the hospital at 6:30am & was immediately checked & told I was 6cm dilated! I opted for the epidural because I was experiencing back labor.

THIS was the most traumatic experience...

My anesthesiologist was a joke! Not only was I having one of the worst panic attacks I’ve ever had, but it took him an entire hour to place the catheter, my ex nearly passed out from how much blood there was, & the only reason I made it through the process was because right at the end he finally had me sit up & my best friend at the time called me & him talking to me calmed me enough to block out what was going on behind me. After it was placed, they set the drop at 10ml per hour & mind you I’m 5ft tall. 30 minutes later I couldn’t even move my legs. I touched them & started panicking because they felt like a bean bag pillow 😂

They turned the drop down to 5ml & after 2 hours I could move 1 leg & they decided I was able to push — 10cm dilated now — but I still needed help from a coach. I pushed for about 25 minutes before my doctor came in. He gave me an episiotomy & my baby girl was born moments later at 12:34pm on earth day!

The day my first was born!

She’s now 2.5yrs!

3 months later I fell pregnant again & was due 4/30/18. My son was born 4/14/18 at 37+5 weeks weighing 7.14lbs & 19.5inches long.

I went into labor with my son 2 days before he was born. My contractions were very regular but to me they felt like Braxton Hicks so I didn’t think much of it. By the 14th I realized they had been extremely regular & close together (3-4min apart) so we went to the hospital to get checked out. Sure enough, I was 6cm dilated & admitted to the hospital at 3:45pm. My contractions stayed painless until 8pm & my water still hadnt broken. They checked me out & I was 9cm dilated at this point. I again opted for an epidural & this time it went WAY smoother. I had a different — more experienced — anesthesiologist & knew what to expect. The whole thing took maybe 10 minutes. As soon as I rolled back to my back the nurse checked me again & said I was 10cm & ready to push! I pushed 3 times & halfway through the 4th she told me to stop so she could get my doctor. Once he got there I pushed 1 more time & my baby boy arrived at 9:02pm! I did read quite a bit, I think I had a 2nd degree year but I was never told how bad it was 🤦🏻‍♀️

My boy on his birthday!

My baby’s grown so much! 18mo! I’m

Finally, on Dec 20th 2018, I was admitted to the hospital for a diagnosis of pancreatitis & also informed I was — you guessed it — pregnant yet again! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 I was due 8/28/19 (my younger sisters birthday!) & my 2nd daughter was born 8/19/19 weighing 7.4lbs & 20inches long!

I had been contracting ALL DAY LONG on 8/18/19 & at 4pm that day went to get checked out. I was stuck at 4cm dilated & sent home. The nurses said it was any time that things would progress & wouldn’t be surprised if we were back within 24 hours. & that’s exactly what happened! I woke up at 2am with strong, painful contractions! I tried to sleep through them in fear of still being only 4cm but after an hour & a half I couldn’t take it any more. I woke my fiancé & told him “unless you wanna have this baby at home, you need to get up.” He sprung up so fast & knew instantly I was in a lot of pain. He made me a bowl of cereal while I face timed my nana & let her know it was go time. He called his mom while I was eating & she came over to go with us to the hospital.

When we got there, I could barely walk. My fiancé offered a wheelchair multiple times but for some reason I kept refusing. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I signed in & was brought to triage. They asked me to pee in a cup to make sure my water hadn’t broken but when I went to sit down it felt like she was coming right then & there! So a nurse helped me back to the bed & checked me & yall.. I’ve never seen a nurse run out of the room so fast! 😳 she came back talking on her Walkie talkie thing about a minuet labor & said I was 8cm & being admitted, all while unhooking the bed from the wall & starting to wheel me to a delivery room! At this point I was begging for an epidural, I could not handle this pain! The nurse just kept saying “we’ll see” 🙄 internally I was screaming “JUST GIVE ME THE DRUGS LADY!!”

They immediately started paging the anesthesiologist & he got there 10 minutes later & got to work! 15 minutes after it was placed, my water broke while I was laughing at something stupid my fiance had said. 😬😅 the nurse came in a few moments later & checked me, I was already at 10cm but my doctor wasn’t supposed to be there for another 45 minuets so they let me rest a bit while we waited for her. She came in at 7am & checkedme & said “well nvm your baby is right there about to crown!” 😳 she gathered all her equipment & started pushing. Literally halfway through the first push she said “you can stop pushing” & I was sooo confused I asked “why?” & in response she laid my baby girl on my chest! 💖 1 push, no tearing whatsoever! I’ve never been more proud of myself in my life!
