Clearblue ovulation kit....

I know the first time I used the clearblue ovulation digital test I got a blank circle and felt disappointed as I thought I was ovulating but I took another test the same day and got a smiley face so I soon realised that it was only showing as a blank circle as it was the first time I’d used to test kit.

Does this still apply for starting again on a different cycle? I used the same test kit today and got a blank circle but according to my app I’m 2 days before ovulation? I plan on testing later on tonight just wanted to know if anyone had an answer, thank you!!
