Tomorrow, I'm having in ng my first pap smear and I'm terrified

I was nervous, and it didn't hurt but was uncomfortable.

Does not hurt at all ask if you can insert the speculum in yourself and think of some thing nice while they swab. Takes about 5-7 mins

I could feel my doctor touching my cervix and it was awful... Some women don't feel it and I want to be one of them.

I was nervous, but I knew I needed it to see what was going on with my health. My doctor made me very comfortable and talked me through the entire process which helped. I also had a good friend with me which she made me laugh and it was way easier than I expected. It was uncomfortable, for sure, but doesn't last more than 2-3 minutes.

Don’t hesitate to tell your doctor you’re nervous ☺️ they’ll be reassuring and explain what is happening! Just got to remember that a few minutes of being uncomfortable is worth it for what it could prevent in the future!
