How often are babies born BEFORE their due date?

Question

I know that babies are usually born within 10 days of their due date, but how many of you have experienced a baby arriving BEFORE the scheduled due date?
My confirmed due date is May 31, my husband swears we will get a June baby. I want a May baby. Obviously, the baby will come when it’s ready but I’m wondering how common it is to have them come before the actual date? Assuming it’s not a scheduled C-section.

Mine were 11 days and 7 days before due date ... waiting to see what happens with #3 due in December.

I was due 6-3, and baby not came 5-25. My water broke the night of 5-24. This was my first.

My oldest was 7weeks early weighing 4lb6oz and was in baby unit for 2weeks. My youngest was 2weeks early weighing 5lb8oz and got home same day I had her.. pregnant with my third daughter and they monitoring me as have notching so saying baby will be small again and may have to be delivered early..everyone is different though.

I believe first babies are slightly more likely to come after their due date and subsequent babies are slightly more likely to come before, but obviously there are millions of exceptions. Also, nowadays, tons of doctors induce for various reasons including for medical issues or just for convenience sake. My first I was induced on my due date; my doctor was on call that day and she offered and I accepted. I’m now pregnant with my second and she offered to induce at 39 weeks provided my cervix is ripe, since my induction was relatively easy last time and she’s on-call that day.

My daughter came 1 day before her due date if we were going off of my last period, but 6 days early if we were going off of her length throughout the pregnancy. She was early either way, though. (:

My second came 16 days before his due date 
I’m pregnant with my third and she will most likely come early as well

My 3rd came 2 weeks early, on his own. Which was unexpected because my others came at 40 weeks & 40+3.

My son come 4 weeks early and my daughter come 6 weeks early, this one they think he will come 8 weeks early because it follows the pattern. We will see
