Help!

My 7week old usually does super well. He usually cries when he needs something and stops when that need is met. I feed him during the day, like clockwork, every 2.5 hours. Over the weeks I’ve dropped some of the night feedings. Any way, I go to feed him and instead of latching he starts crying. He was trying to latch, but didn’t. The crying lasted almost an hour and a half. During that time, I tried pumping a little to reduce engorgement, using drops of milk to put on my nipples, calming him and putting him back to my breast, nothing worked. He only calmed down at one point when I gave him his paci and he immediately fell asleep. I feel bad because I know he wore himself out crying 😭. This has j only happened a handful of times and all of them were in the first few days after he got circumcised...I’m at a loss. Anyone go through this before? What do I do? 😥
