Bf unsupportive of birth control

So I’ve been thinking about going on birth control for a few months now to help regulate my periods. We’re both 16 and I told him about how I’d be going on it to help with my periods (we aren’t having sex yet) and he’s told me “it’s weird” and that he wont support me if I do it. He wont give me a good reason and only thing he’s said is that he thinks it’s because “I don’t trust him”. He said he won’t be having any sex with me if I actually go on birth control. I know it’s my body my choice but I don’t get why he wouldn’t support that. Opinions?
