Thyroidectomy

If anyone has had a thyroidectomy can you let me know how it was, how recovery was, any tips and tricks for an easy recovery?

Side notes: I’m having a total thyroidectomy and I have no thyroid issues it is due to a non toxic multinodular goiter that is blocking my airways. So I will be on thyroxin 😖
