Nipple piercing question

I’ve had my nipples pierced for over a year now and everything has been great. I had these cute skull piercings in for a few months and it was fine until one of my nipples couldn’t handle it and by the time I realized it was swollen and removed it I could see it was infected. I put a new piercing in to replace the skull and there’s puss coming out of it and it’s swollen around the area. Do I need to go to a dr or can I fix this on my own with salt rinses or something at home? Please only comment if you have experience with piercings. Thank you.
