HEEEELP! Baby won’t sleep without me!

(PLEASE don’t lecture me on SIDS. Scroll on by if that’s all you’re here to do. I know what there is to know, and i take measures to safely cosleep. I’m looking for mamas who have been in these shoes at 2 months too, and somehow worked their way past it!)

Guys. My 2 month old still outright REFUSES to sleep in her bassinet. 😫 She wants to sleep with me, or she’ll (*sometimes*) accept daytime naps in her swing. She just hates being laid down to sleep.

I know this is extremely common. Even her pediatrician when I told her this at 1 month old said “Yep, all 5 of mine were that way for a while. Completely normal response to life outside the womb.”

She recommended a cosleeper with hard wedges (for safety). We tried a couple. Those were also a big no.

I really don’t mind having her in bed with me, especially because I’m EBF and it’s hella easier that way. But I think it affects her sleep because she wakes whenever my husband moves or adjusts the blankets in bed (which is often). So I need to make some progress.

I’ve tried the heating pad trick, swaddling, a sleep positioner, white noise, waiting until she’s deep asleep, EVERYTHING. Nothing works. And no, i don’t believe in crying it out at 2 months old.

Any advice??? Or else, when did your babies (who were similar to mine) start sleeping independently?

Thank you!
