What do you think of this??

Question

So moving on.. what do you all think about colleges phasing out SAT and ACT tests?? Fair or unfair and why??
I say fair. Testing is not a determining factor of how students perform in class in my opinion.

I think it’s great. Standardized testing isn’t a great way to gauge anything except which parents can afford to pay for test prep.

All standardized testing shows is which kids know how to take these kinds of tests and which don't. They aren't actually useful.

I've met some dumb people who scored high and some brilliant people who scored low. Not all people are good at taking tests and I don't think it's an efficient way to rate intelligents.

Some people wouldn't be able to afford college if it wasn't for the grants high scores give you. While this helps some, it fucks over others.

My only concern is that is takes away the only uniform thing across the country. Now all schools will have to look at academically is grades and grading can be very different from school to school. It could be super easy to get a 4.0 (or even higher these days through AP and college credit courses) at one school and very difficult at another. SAT and ACT have been proven to be discriminatory tests though.

I kicked ass on the essays but the test were hard as hell. It does have benefits to get your tuition paid for though

I'm all for it if it means that people on making themselves ill just to do well in these kinds of tests

I scored a bit above average. This test is not your regular test. You are on a time crunch. If you do not fill bubbles as you go, you WILL do miserably. Everyone starts and everyone finishes a section together. If you try to go back your test is ripped to pieces and you are dismissed. 
So you have pressure going on. Other than that its pretty much a regular test. I also noticed they are talking about an ATHLETE. They did not mention her grades but did mention they pay tutoring, which to me shows maybe she was already struggling to begin with. Of course she wouldn’t do good on a test like this. The test is very fair. Even my brother with a 2.5 gpa got average grade. It’s not a big deal. 
There’s other options like trade school if college/university isn’t for you. Some careers require a higher level of education, some don’t.

I actually hear on the radio that schools have gotten rid of Ds and Fs. The lowest grade you can get now is a C
