My doctor wanted me to induce me because he speculated IGUR. (Turned out to be just fine!) I was dilated at a ~1 for weeks so I was a little worried about progression. Day one I came in at midnight and was getting excited because I was immediately having contractions. I had been reading any and every story about induction and I was determined to have him Day 1. After 14 hours of trying to induce I was still at 1 cm. I was getting really worried it would turn into a c section, because that sounds terrifying to me. They gave me a shower and food break, and the baby a break from contractions and we started again that night at 11pm. 7:30 am The following day I was a 1.5. So I’m sitting here like cool. Great. It’s not working. Then my doctor said “lets break your water”. Everything hurt like a bitch immediately after. I went from “oh cool really I’m having contractions? It hurts but I didn’t think this was a contraction” to “IM NEVER DOING THIS AGAIN” I was bawling my eyes out. 15 minutes later I was at 2cm. 30 minutes after that 3cm. An hour later a 7. Then before you know it I was pushing. I was like damn why didn’t we just do this yesterday. From water breaking to birth he was born in less than 5 hours. Only 1st degree tear.
