Can you deny or refuse to be checked for dilation?

I’ll be 36 weeks at my next check up Nd Then they’ll be weekly visits.. I really don’t wanna be checked at every appointment just because it’s uncomfortable.. maybe by week 38 I’d be okay with it.. but what’s the importance of checking anyway? Can I refuse to be checked or do I need good reasoning?

Yes you can refuse to be checked. My doctor doesn't even do them at 36 weeks unless they have a reason to suspect that you have gone into labor already.

My dr gives me the option to be checked or not. I was checked with my daughter at 36 weeks and was dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced. I’ll be getting checked next Friday to see how this one is.. I just like knowing. I had a c section the first time and will be having one this time as well, but i still want to know

Checks normally don't start til 37+ weeks but you can say no to anything you don't want. Just tell OB you want to wait til 38 weeks unless tests need to be run.

My midwife and obgyn doesn't even bother to check before the overdue control, as it doesn't really tell them anything unless you are in active labor.

My OB said she won’t check until 39 weeks unless I am experiencing labour like symptoms! 
36 weeks is just the butt-hole swab for strep and that should be it!

Yes you can absolutely deny it.   Some drs wont even do it

I mean u can probly refuse but srsly why wud u want to refuse? Its not healthy for u or ur baby and it pits u into perspective on what to expect n how soon, you can not be dialated at all or dialated more , you need to be checked, theyre not checking u for fun, theyre checking you for u and urs babys safety. Ofc its gona be uncomfterable as is labor and delivery, and if ur doctor is smart she/he widnt give u a choice to refuse a cervical check
