D&C tomorrow!

So I had my baby boy one month ago, and about two weeks after he was born I had severe bleeding that corrected on it’s own. I followed up with my doctor the next day and an ultrasound showed something still in my uterus. They are unsure if it is a large blood clot or retained piece of placenta. Due to this they scheduled me for a D&C to remove whatever it is. I am wondering what to expect from this procedure, I am most concerned about the anesthesia. Has anybody had this done??
