Has anyone checked their own cervix?

So I've been attempting to check my own cervix. To me, it feels soft/squishy and possibly dilated. I can get the tip of my middle finger in, but then I struggle to get it in more because my cervix is way up in there 🙄
Has anyone been able to successfully check their cervix and find it accurate? What was your experience?

You are honestly risking yourself infection and preterm labor, that’s why drs who are trained professionals don’t even check your cervix until the very end... and when they do it’s with sterile gloves... don’t

Leave your cervix alone. It will not tell you anything, and isn't an indication of when baby will be here as you can go slightly dilated for weeks.

As long as you wash hands and nails are clean, there is not risk of any infection. If water is leaking or having any signs that membranes aren’t intact, then it’s an issue. If it’s safe to have sex, it’s safe to check your own cervix. 
I used cervical position and mucus tracking to get pregnant. It’s good to know what your parts feel like normally so you can tell if something is wrong or off for you. 
I’m at 34 weeks and mine is mostly still  been too high to feel. Dilation isn’t a good indication of labor anyway but it’s more of a curiosity for me, as I just want to know how my body is changing. When I have been able to feel it, it has felt soft but definitely not effaced yet. There is still a noticeable neck (for lack of better term).

In a nice way I don't think it's a great idea because you don't know what you are looking for... We're not professionals. I'd have no clue and I haven't checked for that reason- and like the ladies are saying you can risk yourself and baba.
If your cervix is high its a good indication your no where near labour but that's only from my experience when I was checked by a pro at 40 weeks.

I checked my cervix semi regularly throughout my last pregnancy, but once I was term and my little girl was engaged I could only feel the roundness of her head and couldn't reach far enough to feel my cervix. Up until that point it had been fairly firm and closed. 
I had planned to self check once or twice in labour but never got around to it lol. I haven't checked as much this pregnancy but I did check just a few days ago (I'm now 29w4d) and everything felt mushy... so either my cervix is super soft or super posterior and hidden right now. Just make sure to wash your hands properly before you check, I find it easiest to check in the shower once I'm all washed and clean :-) best of luck mama!

I'm 35 weeks & still do foreplay before sex... having fun & getting things going... never make my husband wash his hands before hand bit of a mood killer.. mind he is very clean when it comes to his hands spends 10 minutes washing them after bathroom visits so never worried about it.. not sure how this is any difference from us checking ourselves... as long as you wash well before checking dont see the harm in knowing your own body & the changes it's going though... I thought it was only a risk if waters have broke or possibly of small leak.. congratulations you can still get around the bump to check 😊 I'm now struggling to even wipe 🤣 & good luck
