Is this something to worry about?

Okay so my daughter is 1 week and 3 days now. I’ve been placed on meds for a uti and bv.. they said since im breastfeeding to expect diarrhea but instead baby seems to have real bad constipation? Grunting crying turning red etc. so this was her poop with the dark spots.. any clues on what it is? Should i go see her doctor? I even pumped when i was engorged so I’ve been using that breast milk in a bottle instead of the nipple milk with the meds.. just started that today and this was the poop a few minutes ago... any thoughts?

Breastfeeding baby shouldn't have constipation. I could only breastfeed for a week Bc our baby had breastfeeding jaundice, so we had to switch her to formula. When she was breastfed, her poop looked like that in the picture. I was worried she would get constipated, and I thought she did with all the pushing she did and getting red, so I got her the gas drop. Turned out that's just what babies do. She was never constipated. She's 6 weeks old now and has never been constipated on formula.

It's very very rare for breastfed babies to get constipated. If it was just one diaper I'd disregard it but if it happens again I'd call the doctor.

That’s normal baby poo and you can continue to feed from the breast if you wanted too, it makes no difference whether baby touches the nipple or not, as to the amount of the medication she gets through your milk.
Also you should look up the baby poo chart so you know what kinds of poo, you can expect from your baby at certain stages it will help you to know when there is a problem or when it’s normal 😊
