Might be out...

I went in for my first ultrasound and appointment today. Supposed to be 9 weeks and 6 days. They saw a sac that measured right but didn’t see a baby. So they prescribed me a pill to take to start the miscarriage process and lab work for my quant levels. My mom told me not to take the pills though because this girl that works with her said the same thing happened to her but the next month they finally saw a baby. What do I do? Has this happened to anyone else? I’m already heartbroken and don’t want to get false hopes again.
