Is elderberry safe?

I asked my doctor if I could take elderberry in syrup form with my prenatals and she said “wow I’ve never been asked that but I think so?” I took it yesterday but now I’m paranoid that I’m like overloaded on vitamins. Does anyone else take both? Just trying to stay ahead on sick season with a toddler in preschool.

Sounds like you need a new doctor. Elderberry is perfectly fine. In fact it strengthens your immune system and provides a ton of nutrients, especially good for flu season. Any “extra” vitamins you take that your body doesn’t absorb with be released on its own through your urine.
