Jaundice?

Does anyones LO have Jaundice? My son didnt have it when he was born and now hes yellow and his eyes! He will be 3 weeks tomorrow. Im a lil worried.

My son was jaundice. He looked really yellow and had yellow in his eyes. He dropped from 7lbs 12ozs to 6lbs 13ozs. He just turned 5 weeks and finally the yellow is out of his eyes/skin

They had me do pure formula my breast milk wasn’t helping.. formula helped a lot more. She’s all better now

Yup. My son had to be put under the blue lights because his was so bad. You just have to watch that they are waking for feedings normally, if he starts to become lethargic take him in for a Bilirubin test. My son is now three weeks old, and while his levels have come down enough that he doesn’t need the phototherapy anymore, and his eyes are no longer yellow, his skin is still very yellow. It takes a long time for them to fully flush out all the Bilirubin.

The face and eyes are the last things to fade in jaundice babies. So long as baby is waking for feeds, has good output, and is gaining weight than they’ll be fine.

My daughter was intermediate high risk jaundice. My dr said TONS of skin to skin, feed baby on demand and sit in indirect sunlight. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for baby. A few minutes a couple times a day should help. If it gets worse or doesn’t improve they were going to send me a blanket to correct it but it got better! Definitely worth a trip to the dr if you’re worried!
