Possible miscarriage?

I have been using a period cup my past few cycles and tonight when I was in the shower emptying and cleaning it, I noticed a fairly large clump of tissue that came with lots of blood. More than normal. I have had some random back pains and headaches this week that I haven’t felt before. Is it possible I had a miscarriage? I was also 4 days late.

Take a test. If it’s positive, it will confirm a pregnancy and possible miscarriage. 
Negative- it’s probably just a heavy period.
