Im currently 39w6d and so ready to meet our son! Yesterday we got the call at 10am that we we're able to head towards the hospital to begin induction around noon. I've been progressing fairly quickly...at 1:20pm they gave me my first round of suppository meds to begin thinning and dilating...and another round at 5...that second round really kicked things into gear. I started having contractions every 1-2 minutes increasingly getting more and more painful...at 9 they checked me and I was 1 cm dilated and 80% effaced. They checked again at 11 and I was 2 cm dilated... they then let me take a warm bath to ease my back pain. Around 1am they brought me a medicine ball to bounce on...2am they inserted the balloon to help dilate me ( this hurt so bad) and made contractions immediately excruciating. I had to request the epidural. Got that administered at 2:30am. Made all my pain disapear...had a catheter installed....by 3am I was 6 cm dilated and had my water broke....now we are waiting for more dilation so we can meet our incredible lil mister....wish us luck...our man is estimated to be 9lbs 11oz...hes a big boy and my first....hopefully smooth sailing from here!
