Mamas: need some advice about babysitting

I may be the world's clingiest (is that a word?) Mom on the planet. I have a neighbor that I've lived next to for 4 years. She worked for the school system in our area. I've been to her house 3 times now. Twice unannounced for some help and once to hang out. She is retired and has offered to help me with my LO anytime. I want to go to a class and was going to ask her to watch my child for 2 hrs. Is it too soon to ask lol? We have had limited contact over the years just because of how far our houses are apart. But, I like her. I haven't left my child very much yet, but she starts daycare in a month so I need to start practicing lol.

Anyways does this seem safe? Why am I so clingy LOL?
