Is a 12 year old old enough to know what “ovulation,” “fertility,” etc. means?
There’s an over 10-years age gap between myself and my younger sister (we’ll call her “S”). Tonight while my family was visiting my mom asked me for suggestions on a period tracking app for S. The stipulations were: nothing that mentioned ovulation, fertility, pregnancy, or even information on tampon insertion (for added background on the tampon ban in my parents house: I did not learn how to use a tampon until after I had sex for the first time, at 18, because I wasn’t even aware of the fact that blood comes out of the vagina NOT the urethra before that. 🤦🏼♀️).
Obviously nothing will change the way my parents choose to raise my sisters and I don’t intend to try and make them because they’re quite set in their ways, I’m just curious of others opinions on this.
