Sleep Training Advice

Colleen

My LO is six months old. Since she was born, I've relied on feeding/rocking & bouncing her to sleep. We've reached the point where she wakes up and can't soothe herself back to sleep.

She is VERY hard to console. Shushing her and patting her tummy does not work, she only cries harder and ends up rolling onto her tummy. I have to pick her up, and even after I've calmed her she immediately goes back to full blown hysterics when I lay her back down.

She is a very active baby, and has never been the type to fall asleep easily. Only on rare occasion after a late night feed can I lay her down and she'll fall asleep by herself.

I need recommendations, ideally from parents who have the same type of high energy, prone to hysterics children.

I tried the Ferber Method for one night, but after she escalated to hyperventilating my SO and I decided no more.

Please help!
